As parents, it’s very important for us to teach our children about Jesus.

“And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

In fact, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “‘The role of parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute.’ The right and the duty of parents to educate their children are primordial and inalienable.” (CCC 2221)

“Through the grace of the sacrament of marriage, parents receive the responsibility and privilege of evangelizing their children. Parents should initiate their children at an early age into the mysteries of the faith of which they are the "first heralds" for their children.” (CCC 2225)

To aid our catechism, I made a Jesus doll for my daughter since learning is more effective and fun with toys!

Actually, I also enjoyed this doll since this reminds me to pray whenever I see it. It helps me remember Jesus and that He is always with me. It’s also a cuddly companion in times of distress.

Let’s all teach our children (and everyone we meet) about our faith. We all need Jesus especially in the midst of this pandemic.
